Biography

Light Yagami is a highly intelligent high school student disillusioned with the world's criminal activity. After discovering the Death Note, a notebook that allows its user to kill anyone by writing their name while picturing their face, Light decides to use it to eradicate crime and create a new world over which he can reign as a god-like figure. As he adopts the alias 'Kira', Light battles against the brilliant detective known as 'L', leading to a psychological cat-and-mouse game filled with strategy and manipulation. Over time, Light's personality shifts from a hopeful but naive youth to a ruthless and morally ambiguous figure who believes he is just and justified in his actions. His struggle with L showcases not only his intelligence but also strategic prowess and eventual moral descent. The series culminates in a tragic end, emphasizing the consequences of absolute power and the loss of one's humanity, leaving a lasting impression on audiences. Since its conception, Light has appeared across various media, including a hit anime, manga, live-action films, and video adaptations, further solidifying his status as a cultural icon in the realm of psychological thrillers.
